I’m pleased to announce the release in the latest of my “London” range of houses: the Richmond.
Based on the same quality look common to the Chelsea and the Kensington, the Richmond has been designed to fit within a 40x40m footprint, and is ideal for use on parcesl of 4096sq m or greater (although it will fit on suitable parcels down to 2048sq m in size.
As with the Chelsea and Kensington houses, the Richmond is a 2-storey home that provides plenty of living space and packs in some superb features.
A large entrance hall is flanked on either side by two comfortable bedrooms and features a large arched entrance to the full-width living room / diving area.
With a ceiling over 6 metres high, the living / dining room offers a huge, airy and well-lit living space with a parquet floor and staircase access to the upper floor. The focal-point of this room is the large stone fireplace, complete with “working” flames that can be lit or doused via simple chat commands.
To the left of the fireplace is the Richmond’s galley kitchen, which can be used as is, or can be easily lifted out of the house should you wish to install your own kitchen, or to allow this area to be used for other purposes. Two breakfast bar chairs are included with the house.
Double doors on either side of the lounge provide access to the slate patio on which the house is built. Additionally, one set of doors provides access to the outdoor stairs that lead up to the rooftop patio area, of which more in a moment.
Above the living / dining room is the master bedroom, complete with its own fireplace and working flames. Privacy in this bedroom – and those on the ground floor – is provided by our one-way system that allows occupiers to look out from the house, but passersby not to be able to see in – the windows appearing as part of the Richmond’s overall decor. In addition, all windows are finished in a Venetian blind effect, further enhancing privacy.
A glass door provides access from the master bedroom to the rooftop patio area, which features a swimming pool and hot tub. Surrounded by glass safety walls, finished with stone supports and steel rails, the patio provides a comfortable leisure space and includes two i-Squared sunloungers.
The hottub has working water, steam and bubbles and, as well as the four default sitting animations (supplied by Craig Altman of Bits’n'Bobs), it also includes an MLP system with some 20 poses (make sure your house is located on Mature or Adult land before using the MLP system).
As with the other houses in this range, the Richmond is finished in a complementary set of textures featuring exterior stone walls, interior pastel colours, dado rails to the lounge and entrance hall, and either parquet or slate floors. The house is fully lit and using our “on at dusk / off at dawn” system allowing you to set the lights to come on automatically at the appropriate times. Additionally the house includes a series of removable prim lights located either side of several of the external doors, which can be omitted if preferred.

Great house! However, I lived in Richmond in West London (Richmond-Upon-Thames) for many years and nothing there looks anything like this – or as well built. Although very expensive, most places in Richmond are at least 100 years and are in need of some degree of expensive updating or repair. Many people there would LOVE to live in a house like this since it is so Beverly Hills which is where many Richmondnites would prefer to live anyway!

Thanks for the feedback! I’m very familiar with Richmond myself – and London
– being from the UK myself. I really selected the name (and that of “Chelsea” and “Kensington” to reflect the more up-market scopt of these houses comepared to out mid-price range.
Now you’ve mentioned it…I may well have to look into designing an SL version of a more “traditional” UK town house of some description / era!
