Both of the following stores can be seen at my in-world rezzing platform.
I recently added two new builds to the IPD range that are generating a lot of interest. In a departure from my usual builds, these are not residential, but commercial designs.
The Buckingham and Blenheim are sister designs, intended to provide store and mall owners with an impressive amount of floorspace contained within an imposing building designed to fit within a 4096 sq metre plot. Both share the same overall footprint – 61m x 31m, and can be used to house individual stores or provide space for a mini-mall.
The Buckingham stands almost 20 metres tall, and offers very flexible display space.
The ground-floor area is entirely open-plan, with a single large arched entrance, reached by a flight of stone steps.
Inside, three stairways provide access to the first floor “catwalk”, which has steel-trimmed glass walkways and additional vendor board spaces.
The Blenheim is under 25m in height, and shares the same overall layout as the Buckingham. .
However, the Blenheim offers additional display space over the Buckingham, as it includes additional stairs leading up to a 2nd floor catwalk area, with plenty of space for additional vendor boards.
Both the Buckingham and the Blenheim are designed to the same art-deco appearance, and work as a matched pair for larger commercial enterprises. Each features a colonnade entranceway (the Blenheim with wall space above the entrance to display a company / brand logo), and each combines a stone / steel look reflective of 1930s architecture. Large windows, pre-tinted on the outside, give both designs a fresh, light and airy feel inside.
Lighting is supplied with both designs, provided as a mix of art-deco hanging lights and strip lighting hidden within the catwalks themselves. As is usual for me, the lighting includes my reliable auto on / off: set the lights to come on at dusk and off at dawn, and you needn’t worry about them again. All of the lighting has been designed to work within the Second Life 6 local lights limitations in order to provide the best possible default lighting with the buildings.
A feature of both is my custom ceiling texture, which is designed to provide a slight “glow” effect at night when the lighting is active, adding to the over ambience of both buildings.
The Buckingham and Blenheim come pre-packed and ready-to-rez with modify permissions so you can change any part of the decor you like. Additionally, each is supplied with a range of optional extras:
- Two flagpoles and “fluttering” flags that can be modified to display your company logo / brand
- Four raised display areas for the ground floor, which can be removed from the builds once rezzed, if not required
- Art-deco seating and planters that match the overhead hanging lights
- A range of art-deco mounting frames for vendor boards (vendor boards may require editing to fit).

Note the 3D “pyramid” design of the ceiling areas. This has been tinted to provide a “glow” effect that enhances the interior ambience at night

One of the art-deco hanging light sets is visible at the top of the picture. Additional lighting is concealed within the catwalks themselves, helping to ensure the store is suitably-lit during night hours.
